Nels M. Jensen Called By Death

Nels Marinus Jensen, 65, long time resident of the area and former county commissioner died at his home in North Payette last Sunday.

Funeral services were held this afternoon (Thursday) at the Methodist church with the Rev. Stanley Andrews officiating. Interment directed by the Shaffer Memory chapel was in Riverside cemetery.

Mr. Jensen was born in Denmark on Jan. 24, 1887. He came to the United States when he was 16, and settled at Scranton, Iowa. He was married there on May 1, 1912 to Katie Marie Hanson.

From there they moved to the Payette area 39 years ago, and during his residence here followed farming as an occupation.

He also took an active interest in public affairs and served for three terms on the board of county commissioners, from 1932 to 1938.

Besides his wife he is survived by one son, Kenneth, of Payette; three daughters, Mrs. Arline Macey of Nampa; Mrs. Doris Robertson of Long Beach, Calif.; and Mrs. Mary Heleker of Ogden, Utah; and seven grandchildren.
