PAYETTE - Adele Josephson, 87, of Payette, died Sunday at a Payette nursing home. Services will be conducted Thursday at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Payette, by Rev. Harvey Booth. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery at Payette, under the direction of the Shaffer-Jensen Chapel.
She was born Dec. 13, 1891, at Streetor, Ill. She moved with her parents to Kansas, where she was reared and educated. She attended teachers college at Fort Scott, Kan. She then taught school in western Kansas. She moved to Idaho in 1911 and attended Albion Teachers College. She married Leonard J. Josephson on Dec. 27, 1916, at Pocatello. They lived in Blackfoot until 1940, when they moved to Payette.
Surviving are her husband of Payette; a son, Lynn Josephson of Payette; a daughter, Mrs. Coe (Lois) Leavengood of Albany, Ore.; a sister, Mrs. Elmer (Rosie) Reinking of Medford, Ore.; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers.
Friends may call today at Shaffer-Jensen Chapel from 3 p.m. until 9 p.m. and Thursday from 9 a.m. until noon.
The family suggests memorials to the World Literature Crusade in care of the funeral home.
