Retired Attorney Succumbs Friday

Ira W. Kenward, 86, a retired attorney and pioneer of this section, passed on last Thursday following an extended illness.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Methodist church with the Rev. C. G. Hannan in charge. Interment conducted by Landon's was in Riverside cemetery.

Mr. Kenward was born Oct. 8, 1859 in Dorr county, Wis. When he was ten years of his family moved to Roberts, Ill. He was married to Mary Olive Graham on May 7, 1892. The family moved to Payette Sept. 3, 1902.

He practiced law here for many years before retiring to a small farm west of the city. During recent years he had made his home in town.

Besides his wife he is survived by one son, John of San Francisco; four daughters, Mrs. Elmer Nesbitt, Ola; Mrs. B. L. Cate, Salt Lake City; Mrs. A. L. Farris, Arco; and Mrs. Harry C. Logan, Payette: two brothers, Aaron of Fargo, N.D. and Willard of Melvin, Ill.; one sister, Mrs. Niela Jensen of Roberts, Ill.; 20 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
