Nu Acres - Kenneth William Klein, 67, Nu Acres, died July 13, 1992, at home of cancer. Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Shaffer-Jensen Memory chapel, Payette, with Dr. Leonard Reifel, Pastor Emeritus of St. John's United Church of Christ, Payette officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Payette.
He was born Jan. 1, 1925 at Scotia, Neb., a son of William and Antone Burshun Klein. He grew up and attended school at Scotia, graduating from Scotia High School. He entered into the U.S. Army in 1942 and served in the Philippines and Okinawa. In 1945, he was decorated with a Purple Heart. He married Fern Louise Solterbeck on Oct. 8, 1947, at Payette. He worked at Manser Ford Auto Body Shop for many years. In 1973, he moved to Nu Acres and in 1982 he opened Klein Auto Body. He was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Payette. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Arie #2134, Nyssa. He was a Boy Scout leader for several years and was a member of the Order of Arrow. He enjoyed his home, family and hunting and fishing with his children.
Survivors include his wife, Fern L. Klein of Nu Acres; two sons and daughters-in-law, Tom and Sharon Klein of Elko, Nev., and Tony and Linda Klein of Ontario; two granddaughters, Katie Klein of Elko, and Jennifer Klein of Ontario; two grandsons, Kevin Sheehy of Germany and Craig Sheehy of Ontario; a sister, Laverne Miller of Omaha, Neb.; one nephew and a host of friends.
