Last Rites Held For Mattie Lathrop Tuesday
Services were held Wednesday for Mrs. Mattie Chambers Lathrop, 82, who died Saturday night at a local nursing home.
Mrs. Lathrop was born August 22, 1876, at Carlisle, Iowa, and moved to Payette in 1896 from Missouri. She was preceded in death by her husband and one son.
She was a member of the Christian Church, the Order of Eastern Star, the Floral Club, and the Portia Club.
Survivors include one brother, Robert A. Chambers of Cainsville, Mo. Mrs. Jay Stoner has kept in close touch with relatives in Missouri who were not able to attend during illness and death because of ill health.
Services were conducted in the Shaffer Memory Chapel with the Rev. Martin Torrence and the Order of Eastern Star officiating. Interment was held at Riverside.
