Weiser Pioneer Dies Here Tuesday
John T. Mahoney, 84, pioneer of the Weiser section passed on at the carter home for the aged here on Tuesday.
Funeral services were held at the Payette Catholic church Thursday morning with Landon's in charge. Interment was in Riverside cemetery.
Jack as he was familiarly known was born in the state of New York March 16, 1862. He came to Weiser in 1890 and lived there most of the time since. In the early days he worked with horses, driving stage coaches and freight wagons and was considered one of the best drivers of that section.
He was never married and there are no know surviving relatives.
Of Irish descent, he had a keen sense of humor and a jovial disposition. As a result he was widely known and respected.
