PAYETTE - Mass for Charles Rudolph Mathy, 83 of Payette, were to be celebrated at 2 p.m. Monday at Holy Family Catholic church, Payette, by the Rev. Patrick Phelan. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Payette.
Mathy, who died Friday in a Payette nursing home, was born Aug. 30, 1896 in Lincoln, Neb., where he was reared and educated. He married Hattie Harky on Feb. 16, 1920, at Fairbury, Neb. They moved to Ontario in 1935. They had ranched in Payette and Malheur counties until his retirement in 1969, when he moved to Payette. He was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church.
Surviving are his wife of Payette; a daughter, Margaret Ryan of Payette; three sisters, Anna Zimmerman of Ottawa, Ill., Margaret Harky and Elizabeth Robinson both of Fairbury; and a grandson. He was preceded in death by two brothers.
