Miss Marian McPherson
Miss Marian Eliza McPherson was born at Strawberry Hill, Michigan,
May 26, 1874, died at Baker, Oregon, June 30, 1934, at the age of 60
years, one month and four days.
She was a member of the Christian church, joining at Baker, Oregon
in 1917.
Miss McPherson is survived by her sister, Miss Catherine McPherson
of Baker, Oregon; a nephew Claude A. McPherson, Wilder, Idaho and
a niece, Mrs. I. A. Wernil, Seattle, Washington.
Her early girlhood was spent in Michigan moving with her parents to
Sterling, N. Dakota in 1885, where she resided until 1900 when she again
with her father and mother moved further westward into Eastern Oregon,
near Malheur. In 1914 she moved to Baker, Oregon, residing there until
1918, when she and her sister moved to Fruitland, Idaho, where they
operated a small fruit orchard until June of this year when her health
made in imperative that she take a long rest. The farm at Fruitland
was sold and she again returned to Baker, Oregon, to make her home.
Her life was one of great activity, Her love of nature and the outdoors
gave to her much pleasure. Therefore, she always followed the outdoor
occupations to that of the house. She was of a friendly nature and had
many friends and acquaintances.
Funeral services were held from the Payette Church of Christ last Monday,
July 2, at 2:30 P. M., Rev. J. Raymond Fite, officiating.
Mrs. Kathryn M. Kreitz and Rev. Fite sang. Interment was at the
Riverside cemetery.
