MRS. ELBERT L. MELCHER

The death of Mrs. Elbert L. Melcher came as a shock to her relatives and many friends Friday evening when they learned she had suddenly passed away.

Leota Blanche Lockhart was born June 7, 1895 at Miller, Nebraska, and died May 16, 1919. She was married to Elbert L. Melcher at Weiser, Idaho, November 23, 1917.

A little son was born to these happy young people just a week before, Friday, May 9.

Besides the husband and infant son Mrs. Melcher leaves a father and mother, three sisters and two brothers. Mrs. R. H. Seaman of Broken Bow, Nebraska, who arrived for the funeral, Mrs. R.M. Alters of Payette, and Fae at home, Ray L. in France and Floyd B. in training camp at Great Lakes, Illinois.

Mrs. Melcher was a beautiful young woman who will be greatly miss among her many friends.

The funeral was held in the Baptist church where she has attended church and Sunday school services since living near Fruitland.

Rev. Ford M. Burtch officiated. Burial was made at Payette.
