Funeral Held Jan. 31 For Charley E. Mitchell, War Vet

Rev. Arthur Baldwin will conduct services for Charley E. Mitchell, 59, former Fruitland resident who died at Ft. Meade, S. D. Funeral will be held Saturday, Jan. 31 at 2 p. m. in the Shaffer Memory chapel.

Mr. Mitchell was born Nov. 20, 1893 in Salt Lake City. He came to Fruitland with his family in 1896. He served in the military in World War I and has spent his life since then in veteran's hospitals.

He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Marie Syme, Fruitland, a brother, Ralph, Fruitland and two half-brothers, also of Fruitland, Banks and Kenneth Syme. Two sisters, Mrs. Adelaide Durbin, Auburn, Wash., and Mary Edith Profitt, Seattle, are survivors.

Interment will be in the Riverside cemetery.

Former Fruitlander Died in Dakota

Charley E. Mitchell, former Fruitland resident, passed away the Veterans hospital in Ft. Meade, South Dakota, January 26, after an extended illness.

He was born November 20, 1893, in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Funeral services were held Saturday at 2:00 p. m. with Rev. Arthur Baldwin officiating and interment was at Riverside cemetery in Payette.

Surviving are his mother, Mrs. Marie Syme, of Fruitland; one brother, Ralph Syme and two half brothers, Kenneth and Banks Syme, all of Fruitland; and two sisters.
