PAYETTE - Lillian E. Moggridge, 92, Payette, a retired bookkeeper, died July 12, 1989, in a Payette nursing home. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, Payette. The Rev. Letitia Croom will officiate. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Payette.

She was born Oct. 5, 1896, at Hurdland, Mo., a daughter of Elijah B. and Florence Cox. She moved from Missouri to Payette with her family in 1900. She grew up and attended schools in Payette. She married Bert Moggridge on July 25, 1915, at Weiser. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1965. Bert preceded her in death in 1966.

She worked as a bookkeeper for Woodspur Packing Company and J.P. Palumbo Company. She was a member of St. James Episcopal Church. She was a charter member of the Orchard Avenue Grange, the Portia Club, the American Women's League, the Payette County Historical Society, Senior Citizens, Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxillary, the Beacon Club and the St. James Guild.

Gardening was her favorite hobby. Her flower gardens were featured in an Idaho farm magazine and other publications. She grew experimental bulbs and seeds for a national florist. She was an orchardist's wife all her married life.

Survivors include a daughter, Mary Jane Lee of Payette; a son and daughter-in-law, Jack and Marie Moggridge of Payette; a brother, Chelsey Cox of Chelan, Wash.; three sisters, Mary Steigerwalt, Elizabeth Peutz and Christine Trail, all of Payette; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four brothers, a sister, and a great-great-grandson.
