Iris Eliza Brubaker Mordhorst, 89, died Nov. 18, 1999, at a Boise care center. Services were 2 p.m. Nov. 20 at Shaffer-Jensen Memory chapel in Payette, with the Rev. Sue Sharp officiating. Interment followed at Riverside Cemetery in Payette.
Iris was born Sept. 25, 1910, in Payette, a daughter of Emet Hill Brubaker and Myrtle Fulton Brubaker. She graduated from Payette High School in 1929 and went to work for F.H. Hogue as a secretary/bookkeeper for many years. She worked as a bookkeeper for Emmett Valley Fruits in Emmett until she retired. She married Carl Mordhorst on July 23, 1934, at Emmett. Iris and Ed lived in Payette most of their married life.
Iris enjoyed many interests, which included playing bridge with her friends, sewing, knitting and reading.
Iris is survived by her son, Edward D. Mordhorst of Boise; her daughter and son-in-law, Melanie and David Entzminger of Midland, Texas; four grandchildren, Hallie Duncan and Nick Mordhorst of Boise, Mike Entzminger and Joey Entzminger of Midland, Texas; two great-grandchildren; one sister and brother-in law, Fern and L.E. Bolt of Emmett; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the charity of one's choice.
The family would like to thank the staff at Boise Samaritan Health Care and Rehabilitation Center for all their kindness during Iris' stay.
