PAYETTE - Services for Vernon L. "Skinny" Mordhorst, 67, Payette, who died Monday at a Boise hospital, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, Payette by the Rev. Gale O'Neil of the First Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery.
He was born May 27, 1908, at Payette. He grew up and attended schools in Payette. He married Charlotte Kirkendall Feb. 11, 1942, at Weiser. He served three years in the U.S. Air Force during World War II. He returned to Payette following his military service and lived there ever since. He worked for Benson Paint and Glass in Ontario for 25 years.
Surviving are his wife, Payette; a son, Lynn Mordhorst, Payette; a daughter, Doreen "Rusty" Mordhorst, attending ISU, Pocatello; four brothers, Ira, Ed, and Lee, all of Payette and Elmer, Redmond, Ore.; a sister, Millie M. Lowe, Ashland, Ore.; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers and a granddaughter.
