Mrs. Fred Moss Succumbs; Last Rites Conducted
Requiem Mass was offered this morning (Thursday) at 10 a.m. in the Holy Family Catholic church for Mrs. Fred Moss, 69, a Payette resident who died Monday, September 25 at Boise after a long illness.
Born Loretta Brennan in Minnesota in May 1892, she came to Payette in 1916 where she taught school for one year. She was married to Fred M. Moss in June 1917 and lived here since.
Mrs. Moss was an early member of Portia Club and of the Payette Chapter of the American Red Cross in which she worked actively during World War 11. A lifetime member of the Catholic Church, she was president of the first Alter Society to be organized in Holy Family Parish and was active in church work throughout most of her life.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, Fred M. Moss, are one son, Robert B. Moss of Payette; one daughter, Mrs. W. T. (Dorathy) Ingersoll of Los Angeles; four grandchildren, and seven sisters, Mrs. Mary McShane, Mrs. Alfred Phenix, Mrs. R. M. Hadrath, Mrs. Merwin Leonard, and the Misses Claire, Florence and Blanche Brennan, and one brother, Robert Brennan, all living in Minnesota.
Recitation of the Rosary was Wednesday night at 7:30 at the Shaffer Memory Chapel in Payette. The Rev. Fr. Merwin Nuxoll was celebrant at the Requiem Mass offered this morning and interment followed at Riverside cemetery at Payette under the Shaffer Chapel in charge.
