Funeral services were held in Payette Saturday, December 21, at 2:30 for Edward Charles Nielsen who passed away last Wednesday at his home on the Oregon Slope, following a brief illness with pneumonia.
Mr. Nielsen has been a resident of this section for the past four years. He joined the Evangelical church when a boy and was affiliated with that church throughout his life. He was a member of 15 years standing in the Odd Fellows Lodge and joined the Payette order of this organization on his arrival here.
Mr. Nielsen was born April 15, 1884 at Fort Sulley, South Dakota. He was married to Miss Nettie Holensworth, September 18, 1906 at Grand Island, Nebraska, and to this union were born five children.
Surviving him are his wife and five children, Robert, Virgil, Eleanor Walten and Hazel Nielsen of Payette and Olivia Smith of Spirit Lake, Idaho, also one grandson, Edward Wayne.
Services were held at the Landon Funeral Home under the auspices of the Odd Fellows with Rev. K. A. Nelson of the Baptist church officiating. Interment was in the Riverside cemetery.
