Myrtle Oates

Funeral services in charge of Rev. Hershal Shank of Nampa, were held Thursday, Sept. 11 in the Methodist church in Fruitland for Mrs. Myrtle Oates, 52, who died Sunday at her home in Boise after an illness of several years. Burial was followed in the family lot in Riverside cemetery.

Mrs. Oates was born February 21, 1889 in Falls City, Nebr., and died Sept. 7, 1941. She came to Idaho in the spring of 1906 and with the exception of a few years living in California has spent the rest of her life in Idaho, the greater part in Payette Valley.

She was married to J. G. Oates February 9, 1928.

Deceased is survived by her husband, J. G. Oates of Boise, one son, John R. Hart, a member of the Coast Artillery at Camp Funston, Calif., three sisters, Miss Claire Royston of Prosser of Chicago, Ill., Mrs. Irma Jaeger of Oakland, Calif., and Mrs. Josephine Davis of Fruitland, five brothers, John Royston of Prosser, Nebr., Earl Royston of Ashland, Oregon and Charles, S. C. and L. T. Royston, all of Fruitland. A daughter, Josephine, preceded her in death Dec. 1, 1921.
