ONTARIO - Joe R. Pearson, 86, Ontario, died May 3, 1992, in an Ontario nursing home. Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, Payette, with Pastor Joe Barnett, of the Assembly of God Church, Ontario, officiating. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Payette.

He was born April 27, 1906, in North Powder, the son of Bill and Emma Mason Pearson. He was raised and educated near North Powder, later moving to Payette. He worked at the Bancroft Hotel where he learned the plumbing trade. Joe started a plumbing business in Payette which he ran for many years. He sold the plumbing business in the early 50's to Johnny Warden and moved to Montana. He started a plumbing business in Sandpoint, Idaho, which he sold after a few years retiring to Arizona. In 1968 he moved to Ontario, where he has since resided. On Aug. 6, 1973, he married Goldie. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards and sporting events (especially prize fighting).

Survivors include his wife, Goldie of Ontario; two sons, Dale Pearson of South Carolina and Loren Pearson of Ely, Nev.; a daughter, Karen Johnson, of Dennison, Texas; two step-daughters, Lola Davis of Ontario and Darlene Carol Warren of Payette; a sister Faye Garner of Ontario; a brother-in-law, Bert Conger of Payette, and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
