Walter J. Pearson

Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Shaffer-Jensen chapel in Payette for Walter James Pearson, 68, long-time resident of Payette, who died Thursday at the Payette Valley Sanitarium.

The Rev. Floyd Cummings and the Rev. A. D. Reed officiated. Interment was at Riverside cemetery.

He was born July 26, 1899, Island City, Ore. He came to Payette in 1926 and married Myrtle L. Kissell at Boise on November 18, 1928. He worked for the Stanton Transfer Company in Payette for 16 years and had also been a deputy sheriff and jailer for seven years.

Survivors are his wife, Myrtle, Payette; a son, Roy, Richmond, Calif.; a brother, Joel Pearson, Arizona; two sisters, Mrs. May Conger, Payette, and Mrs. Fay Garner, Ontario, Ore.; and a granddaughter. A brother, David, died in 1964.
