Ransom Funeral

S. C. (G) Ransom was born July 28, 1877 near Harrison, Arkansas and died Sept. 16, 1945 at the home of his son, Chalmer, in Long Beach, Calif. Services were conducted by Rev. S. C. Hagler, of Boise, at the Peterson Funeral Chapel in Ontario.

Mr. Ransom was married to Rhoda Norris in 1903 at Harrison, Arkansas, where they made their home for some years. They moved west in 1912 and settled at Pendleton, Oregon and later moved to Burns, Oregon. In 1915 they came to Fruitland. Mr. Ransom operated a feed store from 1928 until ill health forced him to sell his property in May 1940. He spent several years in the Veterans Hospital in Boise and made his home with relatives the past year he was in California.

Mrs. Ransom passed away on Aug. 1, 1940. He is survived by three sons, Chalmers of Long Beach, Calif., Reyburn of Seattle, Wash., and Lindle of Compton, Calif., four grand children, two brothers, Harry of Harrison, Arkansas and Cleve of Seattle, Wash., two sisters, Mrs. Nellie Stiff and Mrs. Flodie Watson, both of San Francisco, Calif.

Interment was in Riverside cemetery, Payette, beside his wife. Mr. Ransom's three sons and families were present for the funeral services and returned to their homes on Sunday.
