NEW PLYMOUTH - Services for Leonard (Ned) Russell, Sr., of New Plymouth, who died Thursday at his home, were conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at the New Plymouth Shaffer-Jensen Chapel by the Rev. Hayden Abel of the First Baptist Church. Interment was at Riverside Cemetery.
Mr. Russell was born March 8, 1890 at Irishtown, Ill. He moved to Idaho with his family in 1906 and married Mattie Silkett on Nov. 9, 1912 at Caldwell. They farmed near New Plymouth for a time then moved to Big Willow Creek where they lived until 1944. He had lived in Nampa and New Plymouth since then. He married Audrey Flora on Nov. 2, 1950. She died in 1964.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Jack (Dorothy) Handley and Mrs. Vern (Carla) Gates, both of Emmett; a son Everett Russell, address unknown; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Hull, Payette, and Mrs. Jennie Shellworth, Weiser; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
