Tressie G. Shamberger

FRUITLAND - Services for Tressie G. Shamberger, 80, Fruitland, who died Wednesday in a Payette nursing home was conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Shaffer-Jensen Chapel, Payette, by the Rev. Earl Traughber, Church of the Brethren. Interment followed in Riverside Cemetery.

She was born Feb. 27, 1896, in Elwood, Neb. where she was reared and educated. She later taught school there. She married Cecil Jack, March 8, 1916, in Nebraska. In 1920 they moved to Idaho and in 1943 they moved to a farm on the Oregon Slope. He died in January 1960 (SB 1962). She married Mason Clough. He died in 1965. She married Chauncey Shamberger June 1, 1973, and the couple made their home in Fruitland.

Mrs. Shamberger was a member of the Fruitland Church of the Brethren, past president of the Portia Club, Payette; Payette Floral Club and the West Side Thimble Club.

Surviving are her husband, Fruitland; a son, Heyward Jack, Grangeville; three daughters, Mrs. Harold (Maxine) Stewart, Meridian, Mrs. Robert (Viria) Howard, Emmett, and Mrs. Byron (Roberts) Bender, West Linn, Ore.; two step-daughters, Lois Weslin, Boise, and Margaret Sheets, Houston, Tex.; a brother, Lynn Winslow, Lighthouse Point, Fla.; 12 grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, two sisters and a great-granddaughter.
