James Edward Shearer, 76, Nampa, formerly of Payette, who died Wednesday, September 8, 1982 at a Nampa hospital, were conducted Saturday at the Riverside Cemetery, Payette, by Pastor Harvey Booth of the Payette First Baptist church, under the dir3ection of the Shaffer-Jensen Chapel, Payette.

He was born December 16, 1905, at Payette to A. J. and Grace Shearer. he was raised and atte4nded schools in Payette. He married Mable Mordhorst, December 26, 1928 at Payette. They farmed in the Payette area until 1941. eh worked as a carpenter in Oregon until 1947 when he returned to Payette. he worked on the Hells Canyon dams as a carpenter. Mable died in 1958. he married Ruby J. Harvey on may 28, 1960 at Payette. She died in 1966. he moved to the Boise-Nampa area in 1974.

Surviving are a son, James E. Shearer Jr., Meridian; a daughter, Betty Carter, Medford, Ore.; three brothers, George of Nampa, Idaho; Woodrow of Paul, Idaho; and Bud of Moses Lake, Wash.; eight sisters, Hope Shaffer, of Iowa; Dorothy Lowe, Twin Falls, Idaho; Helen Goddard, Seattle, Wash.; Queena Tollman and Mae Koskelka both of Nampa; Peggy Tollman and Grace Tietsort, both of Caldwell and Barbara Thiel of Payette.
