Virgil Sickles Service Today

Services were conducted today, Thursday, for Virgil Guy Sickels, 62, Payette park superintendent, who died Monday in a Boise hospital.

Mr. Sickels was born Jan. 6, 1899 at Athelston, Iowa. He was married to Elizabeth Ray Dec. 18, 1922 at Des Moines, Iowa. The couple came to Payette from Athol, Kan., 35 years ago.

He was a veteran of World War I and was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Order of Eastern Star.

Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth of Payette; one son, Donald of Whitebird; two daughters, Mrs. Glenister M. Roberts of Alaska, and Mrs. Gerldine E. Downing of Weiser; one brother, Ralph Sickels of DeSota, Kan.; two sisters, Mrs. Berjetta Lester and Mrs. Beryl, both of Portland, and seven grandchildren.

Services were conducted at 9:30 a.m. at the Shaffer chapel with Washoe Lodge No 28 A.P. and A.M. officiating. Interment was at Riverside.
