Recitation of the Rosary for Frank Sodja, 83, of Payette, who died Tuesday, July 26, 1983, at his home, was held Sunday, in the Shaffer-Jensen Chapel, Payette. Mass of the Christian Burial was recited Monday, at Holy Family Catholic Church, Payette, with the Rev. Father Patrick Phelan, Celebrant. Interment followed at Riverside Cemetery, Payette.
He was born August 14, 1899, in Butte, Mont., the son of Peter and Barbara Sodja. He moved with his parents to Payette in 1907, and married Grace Wiley Bartles on Feb. 6, 1936, in Payette, where they made their home. His wife, Grace died in November of 1979. He was a member of the Holy Catholic Church of Payette.
Survivors include a daughter, Delora Bartles of Payette; two brothers, William of Portland, and Edward of Payette; a grandson, John Brockman of Seward, Alaska; three great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.
