KENNETH E. "RED" SOLMON

PAYETTE - Kenneth Earl Solmon, 72, of Payette, died Monday at home. Services will be conducted Thursday at Shaffer-Jensen Chapel in Payette by Rev. Herbert Lilly of the Payette Church of the Nazarene. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery.

He was born Feb. 23, 1906, at Chetec, Wisc., and moved with his family to Minnesota, then to South and North Dakota. He moved to Hood River, Ore. in 1927 and to Payette in 1930. He served in the Army during World War II and worked in the timber industry at Bend, Ore., from 1950 until 1955.

He moved to Pocatello and worked on the railroad from 1955 until 1965. He had played the drums in several orchestras since 1930 and for the Payette Senior citizens.

He was a member of the Payette Senior Citizens.

Surviving are three brothers, Raymond of Payette, Marvin of Elko, Nev., and Richard of Burley; two sisters, Margaret Stowell of Burns, Ore., and Mrs. George (Mabel) Chatterton of Pocatello; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the chapel today from 3:30 until 9 p.m. and Thursday from 9 a.m. until noon.
