H. Solterbeck Rites Held
PAYETTE - Services for Henry Solterbeck, 78, Payette, who died at an Ontario hospital Friday afternoon following a brief illness were conducted today (Monday) at the Shaffer Chapel in Payette with the Rev. Charles Gill officiating. Interment was at Riverside cemetery.
Mr. Solterbeck was born January 13, 1888, at Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. He came to the United States in 1906 and lived in Nebraska, Blackfoot and New Plymouth before moving to Payette in 1921.
He married Rosa Strohbehn, September 18, 1918, in Payette and was a member of the St. John's United Church of Christ and the Orchard Avenue Grange.
Surviving him are his widow, Mrs. Rosa Solterbeck, Payette; two sons, Ward W. Solterbeck, Payette and Jack L. Solterbeck, Salem; two daughters, Mrs. Kathleen Turner, Portland and Mrs. Dorothy Ann Owens, Payette; two brothers, H.B. Solterbeck, Payette and John Solterbeck, Germany; two sisters, Marie Bartsch and Webke Ehlers, both of Germany; and 20 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by twin sons.
