Services for Henry B. Solterbeck, 79, a long time resident of Payette, who died at his home Wednesday, were conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel in Payette by the Rev. Leonard Reifel of the St. John's United Church of Christ in Payette. Interment was at Riverside.

He was born July 15, 1890, in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. He came to the U.S. in 1906 and worked in the Blackfoot area for a year before coming to the Payette area in 1907. He married Louise Strohbehn at Payette on Dec. 20, 1915. They lived in Fruitland until 1921 when they moved to their present farm and home southeast of Payette. He was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, and Washoe Lodge No. 28, AF & AM, and the El Korah Temple of the Shrine in Boise.

Survivors besides his wife include three sons, Claude and Allen, both of Payette, and Robert, Okinawa; three daughters, Mrs. Shirley Waymen, Hayden Lake, Mrs. Fern Klein, Payette, and Mrs. Marilyn Harris, Ontario; a nephew, Hans Solterbeck, Payette; a brother, John Solterbeck, and a sister, Marie Hartch, both living in Germany; 16 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials to the Shriner's Hospital in Portland in care of Leonard Josephson, 915 Third Avenue North, Payette.
