PAYETTE - Rhoda Stauff, 91, Payette, died Sunday, Feb. 1, in a Payette nursing home. Private family services were conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in Shaffer-Jensen Chapel, Payette, with the Rev. Earl Traughber of the Fruitland Church of the Brethren, officiating. Burial followed in Riverside Cemetery, Payette.

Mrs. Stauff, a farm wife, was born Jan. 18, 1896, near Shedd, Ore., to an early pioneer family, James and Charlotte Pugh. She married Oscar Stauff on June 16, 1915. They lived in Rickreall where she and her husband raised purebred Jersey cattle in partnership with U.S. Congressman Clifton McArthur. After the death of the congressman in 1926 they moved to Payette where Mr. Stauff was a field man for the Farmers Co-op Creamery. Rhoda was actively engaged as a fruit orchardist on their farm north of Payette. Mr. Stauff died in 1963.

She is survived by two sons, Oscar Stauff, Jr., of Payette; and Clifton Stauff, Sacramento, Calif.; two daughters, Ardinelle White, Pierce, Idaho; and Betty Lewis, Weiser; a sister, Eunice Douglas, Albany, Ore.; ten grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
