Pioneer Fruitland Resident Services Held Wednesday
Mrs. Jean C. Stegner of Fruitland passed away at her home March 4, at the age of 80. She was born June 9, 1875, at Cannon Falls, Minn. and came to the Fruitland community from Stephney, Minn. in 1902. She was married to Eugene Stegner, December 29, 1898 at Custer, Minn. Mr. Stegner passed away January 22, 1953.
Mrs. Stegner was a member of the Methodist church and charter member of the Royal Neighbors of Fruitland.
Survivors are two sons, LeRoy Stegner, Fossil, Ore. and Carl Stegner, Delano, Calif.; one daughter, Mrs. Opal McBride of Weiser; one sister Mrs. Nina Salls of Litchfield, Minn. Eight grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren also survive.
Services were held Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. at the Fruitland Church of the Brethren with Rev. Robert Kriner officiating. Interment was at Riverside Cemetery under the direction of Shaffer Memory Chapel.
