PAYETTE - Services for Alonzo D. "Duck" Stroup, 74, Payette, who died Thursday at an Ontario hospital were conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at Shaffer-Jensen Chapel, Payette, by the Rev. Phillip Kinkel, Payette First Baptist Church. Interment was in Riverside Cemetery.
He was born Jan. 17, 1903, at Payette, where he was reared and educated. He married Vella A. Parker, July 21, 1929, at Payette. He worked for the Payette Creamery Association and was a superintendent of the city street department. He retired in 1968, but continued with the city and maintained the city park. He was a member of the Payette First Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Payette; a daughter, Yvonne Stroup, Salt Lake City; a brother, Benjamin A. Stroup, Boise; and two sisters, Vida E. Helsley, Grantsville, Utah, and R. Eunice Cheesebrough, Great Falls, Mont.
