Streeter C. Stroup Buried Wednesday

Streeter Stroup, well known resident of Payette, passed away at the Holy Rosary hospital in Ontario. Mr. Stroup recently had an operation from which he was apparently recovering from satisfactorily until Friday of last week when he had a heart attack which resulted in his death the following day. Funeral services were held on Wednesday afternoon at two o'clock, following services which were held at the Landon Funeral home with the Rev. Paul Felthouse officiating. Burial was made in the Riverside cemetery.

Mr. Stroup grew up on the place of his birth in Washoe. For a time he worked for the Home Comfort Range company of St. Louis, Mo. in Oregon, Washington and California. The company furnished him with a mule team which he used to haul the ranges to the homes in the more isolated sections. He afterward worked as a bridge builder in these same states and in 1916 he returned to the family homestead at Washoe, where he resided up until the time of his death.

Streeter Courtney Stroup is a native of Payette county, was born in Washoe, Oct. 2, 1887 and spent his entire life on the farm his parents homesteaded. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Stroup who came to Payette in 1873. Mr. Stroup was married Nov. 11, 1916 to Maud May McClure of Caldwell. His wife and two children preceded him in death.

Mr. Stroup's living relatives are one son John J. Stroup of Washoe, three daughters, Lois Johnson of Parma, Idaho, Bethe Johnson who was living with her father while her husband is serving overseas, Annabel Fuller, of Jerome, two sisters, Jessie Moore of Ontario, Ore., and Alta Coughanour of Payette, one brother, Guy of Washoe.

For many years he was employed as county supervisor.
