Brad Taylor

Brad was born in Payette, Idaho, on July 14,1945, to Auzbond (A.G.) and Josephine Taylor. Brad left his home in Miller, Missouri, at the young age of 16. After leaving home, he both worked with, and learned from Troy, Roy, and J.D. Taylor "The Taylor Boys," at what would become his lifelong career in the thoroughbred racing industry.

Brad became a successful trainer at tracks around the Pacific Northwest including Longacres, Yakima Meadows, Playfair, Hastings Park, Portland Meadows, and Emerald Downs.

Brad stepped away from the race track after being the barn superintendent at the new Emerald Downs race track in the spring of 1998. He then moved to Cle Elum from Kent, Washington. In Cle Elum, he built a log home with his wife, Linda. He was very involved in the community and made many lifelong friends. He worked as a farrier, a handyman, and kept busy helping others. He could build or fix almost anything and did so for many people. Brad was a very giving, selfless, and generous man; he helped anyone at the drop of a hat whenever be could.

After Brad's wife, Linda, had passed in 2005, be decided to get back into doing what he loved most - owning and training thoroughbred race horses. Brad owned horses at Santa Anita, Del Mar, and Golden Gate Fields. He then got back into training horses and spent most of his final years at Emerald Downs and Turf Paradise in Phoenix, Arizona. Brad ultimately passed away while residing in Phoenix.

Brad is preceded in death by bis wife Linda, daughter Josie, sisters Kay and Jenny, and brothers Bill and J.W. Brad is survived by his brother Bob, and dear friends Randy Pray, and Bruce Samuels.

Brad's final resting place will be at the Riverside Cemetery in Payette, Idaho.

A small graveside service will be held for Roy and Troy Taylor, Brad Taylor and Ron Taylor on August 06, 2022, 11am at the Riverside Cemetery Payette, Idaho.
