Herbert P. Taylor, 86, Spokane, formerly of Payette, a farmer, died August 11, 1987, in a Spokane hospital. Services were held August 17, in the Shaffer-Jensen Chapel. Rev. A. E. Rainwater, retired Assembly of God minister, officiated. Burial followed in Riverside Cemetery, Payette.
He was born January 12, 1901 (1900), at Myrtle, Missouri, a son of John and M. Clementine Rice Taylor. He was reared and educated in Missouri. He married Thyra E. Brewer on February 24, 1924, at Couch, Missouri. They moved to Payette in 1934 where they farmed. They had recently moved to Spokane.
Survivors include his wife of Spokane, five sons, Herbert J. of Payette, Hubert W. of Spokane, J. D. of Vancouver, Washington, Roy of Cleveland, Ohio, and Troy Taylor of Seattle; two daughters, Darlene Dolan of Spokane, and Mary Belvoir of Kent, Washington; two brothers, Osby Taylor of Thayer, Missouri, and Jack Taylor of New Plymouth; two sisters, Ollie Nance of Salinas, California, and Jean Dougherty of Caldwell; 13 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
