Jack was born in Alton, Mo., on March 23, 1914, to William and Clementine (Rice) Taylor. He was the ninth of 10 children.
The family farmed the bottom lands of the show-me-state until 1937, when Jack and his parents came west to Idaho. He fell in love with the Northwest and called it his home for the remainder of his life. He also fell in love with Viola Neel, and took her as his wife on April 12, 1939.
They had recently celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary. This union bore three children, Barbara (Charles) Enslow, Florence, Marjorie (Clark) Randall, Ontario, and Larry Taylor, New Plymouth.
During his stay here on earth, Jack worked all manner of jobs, but his true talents lay in the care and training of animals, especially horses and dogs. He loved to ride, hunt, and rodeo, and was an expert at shoeing horses. He is survived by his wife, both his daughters and his son.
He is also survived by a granddaughter; Angela (John) Lanterman, Boise; three great-grandchildren, Brian Wilson, Eugene, Rob Lanterman, Boise, and Katelyn Lanterman, Boise. He also left behind many nephews, nieces, cousins, and their children. Jack was preceded in death by his parents,
four brothers, five sisters, and two grand-daughters. He will be greatly missed by all his family, and his many friends. See you later Dad.
