PAYETTE - Services for Oscar Elliot Toothman, 83, New Plymouth, who died Monday at a Nyssa nursing home, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Payette Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel by Pastor Ronald Eldredge, Ontario Christian Church. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Payette.

He was born Nov. 8, 1893, at Cross Roads, W. Va. He served in France during World War I.

He married Mary Elsie Medlar Aug. 1, 1923, at Crete, Nev. They homesteaded in Wyoming and moved to Idaho in 1945, where they farmed in Payette County. She died in 1955.

He was a member of Leland E. Tomas VFW Post No. 9036, New Plymouth.

Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Carrol (Betsy) Winkle, Ontario, Mrs. Lee (Mary) Sparkman, Milton-Freewater, Ore., Mrs. John (Jean) Sipes, Northpole, Alaska, and Mrs. William (Margaret) Ralphs, Twin Falls; 15 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter, a sister, two brothers, and two grandsons.

Friends may call from 3 until 9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until service time Thursday at the Payette Shaffer-Jensen Chapel.
