Pioneer Resident S. Walker Dies

A long time resident of Idaho who had lived in Payette since 1906 died Friday night in Boise after a long illness. He was Sam S. Walker, 84.

He had been a charter member of the John Webster Rhodes American Legion post and of the Spanish American War Veterans of Payette. He was a painter and interior decorator.

Mr. Walker was born November 23, 1869, at Elizabeth, Pa.

Survivors are his widow, Mrs. Florence Walker of Payette, two sons, one daughter, one sister and seven grandchildren.

Services were conducted Wednesday morning at the Riverside cemetery with the Rev. Wm. B. Spofford Jr. officiating. The American Legion performed graveside rites and arrangements were under the direction of the Shaffer Memory chapel of Payette.
