Franklin Whaley Military Services Held Thursday

Franklin Dean Whaley, 23, a Navy electrician's mate, died at the Charleston, S.C. Navy Hospital from injuries received in an auto accident.

He was a native of Kearney, Neb., and came to Payette with his family in 1954. He attended Payette schools and had been in the Navy since 1958.

Survivors include his father, Guy H. Whaley of Payette; seven brothers, Edward, DeWitt and Hobart, all of Kearney, Neb., David and Emery of Los Angeles, and Robert of Poole, Neb.; and two sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Harris of Poole, and Mrs. Marjorie Carman of Payette. His mother preceded him in death.

Final rites were conducted this morning (Thursday) at 10 o'clock at the Shaffer Memory Chapel in Payette with the Rev. Earl Moore officiating.

Interment with military honors under the direction of the Boise Naval Reserve Unit followed at Payette.
