NYSSA - George Martin Wilson, 85, Nyssa, died Thursday at a Nyssa nursing home.

He was born Jan. 26, 1887, in Curtis, Neb. He moved with his parents from Curtis in a covered wagon in 1900 to Payette. He married Della M. Cartwright, June 9, 1909 in Payette. They moved to Nyssa in 1937. He was employed as a butcher at Eders, Eay's and Wilson's Markets in Nyssa.

He was a member of the Modern Woodman's lodge in Payette.

Survivors include his widow, Delia of Nyssa; three sons, Vernon G. (Bill) Wilson, Baker, Ore., Harold F. and Don L. Wilson, both of Nyssa; three daughters, Mrs. Bob (Vera) Newsen, Nyssa, Mrs. John (Thelma) Anderson, Payette and Mrs. Thomas (Marilyn) Hessier, Kennewick, Wash.; a sister, Mrs. H. N. Phipps, Emmett; 18 grandchildren and 10 great great grandchildren.

A son, Nolan (Dick) Wilson and a daughter, Jennie Wilson, preceded him in death.

Services were conducted at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Lienkaemper Chapel in Nyssa by the Rev. Robert W. Manley, pastor of the Church of the Nazarene in Nyssa. Interment followed at Riverside in Payette.
