Robert G. Grimes
Funeral services were conducted Saturday at the Payette Chapel of the Roses for Robert Grant Grimes, 79, who died last Tuesday at the Payette Valley Sanitarium.
The Rev. Edwin Glover of the Meridian Brethren church officiated and interment was at Rosedale Memorial Gardens in Payette.
Born January 6, 1880, in King, Pa., he had lived in the Payette-Oregon Slope area for the past 43 years. He was a retired farmer. He married Gertrude Rose on Feb. 25, 1912, in Fruita, Colo. He was a member of the Church of the Brethren.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Gertrude Grimes, Payette; three sons, Chester Grimes of Emmett, Lee Grimes of Payette, and Leonard Grimes of Burns, Ore.; a daughter, Mrs. Edsel (Violet) Griffin, Payette; two brothers, Carl Grimes, of Mancos, Colo., and Paul Grimes of Sonora, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. Millie Rumley of Payette, and Mrs. Sam (Sarah) Ahrens of Keensburg, Colo.; seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
