D. Maxine Rohrer, 69, Payette, died of natural causes March 24, 1997 at a Boise hospital. Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, Payette with Pastor Fred Schuett of the Pilgrim Lutheran Church, Ontario, officiating. Burial will follow at Rosedale Memorial Gardens, Payette.

Maxine was born May 21, 1927 in Arlington, S.D., to Carl and Selma Colby. She attended high school in Hetland, S.D., graduating in 1945. She married Lloyd J. Rohrer May 9, 1948, at Lake Whitewood Lutheran Church in Arlington. Maxine, Lloyd, and children moved to Sioux Falls, S.D., and in the fall of 1965 the family moved to Payette, Idaho. Maxine worked in the office for Holy Rosary Hospital, retiring in 1992.

Maxine's great sense of humor and compassion for others touched many people. Her strong belief in God was an inspiration to all who knew her and she will be greatly missed.

Maxine is survived by her husband, Lloyd of Payette; her two daughters, Sharon and her husband, Bill Rasmussen of Battle Mountain, Nev.; and Maureen and her husband, Greg Hoch of Spokane, Wash.; her son, Tim and his wife, Leah Rohrer of Boise; her sisters, Geraldine Stockwell of Garretson, S.D.; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, LeVerne and Richard Colby.
