Services for Martha May Rose, 87, of Payette, who died Wednesday, Feb. 27, 1985, in a Payette nursing home of natural causes, were conducted March 1, at the Chapel of the Roses, Payette, with Rev. Robert Hefty of the First United Methodist Church officiating. Interment followed in the Garden of Melody, Rosedale Memorial Gardens, Payette.

Mrs. Rose, a homemaker, was born April 22, 1897, at Aurora, Neb. She had lived in the Payette community since 1937. For the past nine months she had lived with her daughter, Mickey Davis in Las Vegas. She married Robert W. Rose on Oct. 24, 1924, at Chadron, Neb. He died in November, 1973. She was a member of the Auxiliary of the American Legion, John Webster Rhoads, Post No. 33; and a gold star mother. She was a member of the Methodist Church.

Survivors include five sons, Lyle Rhodes of Valentine, Neb., Bill Rose of Enumclaw, Wash., Dennis and Taylor Rose, both of Payette, and Bernard Rose of St. Mary's; five daughters, Mrs. Gladys Hansen of Payette, Mrs. Lela Davenport of Boise, Marjorie (Mrs. Dan) Davis of Los Vegas, Kathryn Pinkley of Anchorage, Alaska, and Helen Whitmire of Washougal, Wash.; two brothers, Dale Libolt of Dallas, Ore., and Don Libolt of Casper, Wyo.; twin sisters, Pat Lefler of Filer and Peggy Crossett of Yuma, Ariz.; 25 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. Her husband, a son, Lowell (Dusty) Rhodes, a daughter, Elizabeth Jane Rose and three brothers preceded her in death.
