PAYETTE - Services for Clarence Nathan Theil, 77, former resident of Oregon Slope who died Friday at a Mountain Home hospital, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Shaffer-Jensen Chapel, Payette, by the Rev. E. Baldwin, pastor of Faith Lutheran Church, Mountain Home. Interment will be at Rosedale Gardens, Payette.

He was born Sept. 22, 1898, in Galesburg, Ill. He moved to the Oregon Slope with his family in 1904. He was raised in the Payette-New Plymouth and Hyline areas. He married Marie Theresa DeWitt, Feb. 22, 1923, at Payette. He farmed most of his life on the Oregon Slope, until September, 1973, when he moved to Mountain Home, where he had since lived.

Surviving are his wife, Mountain Home, two daughters, Mrs. Clyde (Dorothy) Schmelzer, Mountain Home, and Mrs. Donald (Lillie) Presus, Homedale; a brother, Albert, Soquel, Calif.; two sisters, Stella Greenlee, Hermiston, Ore., and Irene Green, Florence, Ore.; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at the chapel from 3 until 9 p.m. Monday and from 9 a.m. until service time Tuesday.
