Services for Mildred Vance, 89, Payette, who died Tuesday, Oct., 4, 1983, at a Payette nursing home, were conducted Saturday at the Chapel of the Roses in Payette with Rev. Robert Hefty of the First United Methodist Church of Payette officiating. Interment followed at Rosedale Memorial Gardens.

She was born Oct. 14, 1893, at Morristown, Minn., the daughter of Dennis and Ida Hurd. She was raised in Wisconsin. She married Glenn Vance on Nov. 17, 1915, in Bowbells, N.D. They farmed at Gettysburg, S.D. until 1932 when they moved to Nyssa. In 1938 they moved to the Lincoln Heights area and lived there until 1961 when they moved to Payette. Mr. Vance died in 1969.

She is survived by one son, Roy Vance of Ontario; two grandchildren, Sheila Zink of Eagle, Idaho and Raymond Vance of Ontario; three great-grandchildren, Shawna and LaSheen Zink of Eagle and Tricia Vance of Ontario.

Pallbearers will be Bill Shunn, Robert Hon, John Kane, Hilary Ray Jr., Earl Hollady and Hugh Findley.
