David M. Yoder, 77, Payette, passed away Feb. 28, 1999, at a local care center. Private memorial service will be conducted at Haren-Wood Funeral Chapel in Payette.
David was born Sept. 17, 1921, in Chisholm, Minn.
He was in the U.S. Army during World War II and received the Purple Heart and the European African Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon with a Bonze Battle Star. David was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans. He worked as a truck driver.
David married Wilma Nida in Wisconsin and had five children during this marriage. He later divorced and married Fern Johnson in Nevada.
David is survived by his wife, Fern Yoder of Payette; his children, Bob Yoder, of Rainier, Wash., Mike and Tom Yoder of Spanaway, Wash., Jim Yoder of Puyallup, Wash., and Peggy Gillispie of Tacoma, Wash.; his sister, Bessie Nida of Harper, Kan.; three stepchildren; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
