Leondina Oster Baer

Final rites were conducted Tuesday morning in the United Methodist church here for Mrs. Leondina Oster Baer, 76, of Payette, who died Friday in a Payette nursing home. The Rev. Herschell Hall and Dr. Leonard Reifel officiated. Interment was at Riverside cemetery with rites by the Harmony Rebekah lodge of Payette.

She was born July 20, 1892, in Crimes, Russia, and came to the United States in 1893, settling in Bismarck, N.D., for one year before coming to Payette with her parents in 1894. She was married to Ferdinand Baer in Payette, January 30, 1911. They resided on their farm north of Payette until 1959 when they moved into Payette where they have since resided.

She was a member of the St. John's United Church of Christ, Harmony Rebakah lodge No 22, Royal Neighbors, Orchard Avenue Grange and the Portia club.

She is survived by her husband, Ferdinand Baer, Payette; six sons, David F. of Longview, Wash., Edward J. and Harold G. of Lockwood, Calif., Rein W. of Pocatello, Leonard G., Payette, and Binnie O., Portland; two daughters, Mrs. Bertha Armstrong of Arlington, Wash. and Mrs. Kate Barton, Hawallan Gardens, Calif.; three brothers, John and Vinnie Oster of Payette and Jake Oster of Boise; three sisters, Mrs. Louise Conrad, Odgen, Mrs. Henrietta Specht and Mrs. Amelia Specht, of Longview, Wash; 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials may be made to the cancer fund.
