Payette - Edith Elizabeth "Betty" Senkbeil, 97, Payette, passed away Sunday, Sept. 12, 2004, at Boise Samaritan Village. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Friday, Sept. 17, 2004, at Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, Payette. A private family interment will be at Riverside Cemetery, Payette. A viewing will be from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. today, Sept 16, 2004, at Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, Payette. Funeral services and arrangements are under the direction of Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, Payette.

Betty was born Nov. 16, in Manes, Mo., to Sherman and Leota (Todd) Shelby. She moved west with her family at the age of five to Richland. She lived several places and attended school in Oregon. Her family then moved to Idaho, finally settling in Boise.

She married Paul Senkbeil Nov. 18, 1935, and moved to a farm on North Ninth Street in Payette in 1936; living in one house there for 33 years. They then moved to another house on the farm, living there for 25 years and raising two foster children. Paul passed away in 1984.

Betty is survived by one foster son, Gene Senkbeil; one sister, Margaret Dehlin, Boise; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Paul; and one foster son.

Memorials may be made to the Harmony Rebekah Lodge No. 22, c/o Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, P.O. Box 730, Payette, ID 83661.
