MRS. SOPHIA YOUNT

Sophia Meyer was born in Rock City, Illinois, November 12th, 1848, and had passed the 84 year mark when she was called. She was united in marriage to Chas. Yount at Broadhead, Wisconsin, September 15, 1883. To this union were born four children; Lyman, Logan, Ruth and Naomi. Two of these children survive her, Logan of Los Angeles and Mrs. Naomi Farson of Payette.

She also leaves four step-children; Clarence of Grants Pass, Oregon; Holden of Richmond, Va; Adam of Portland; and Mrs. Hannah Pearce of our city. There are 15 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

Three sisters survive; Eliza Borger; of Freeport, Ill.; Lydia Kissinger of Seward, Nebraska; and Rebecca Myer of Colorado Springs, Colo.

After Mr. Yount passed away at Hampton, Tenn., in 1910, Mrs. Yount went to Columbus, Ohio and made her home with her son Logan, until 1914 when she came to Idaho and made her home with her daughters, Mrs. John Pearce and Mrs. Miles Farson.

When quite young she gave her heart to the Lord and united with the Evangelical church where she retained her membership through the years.

As a testimony of her christian life, her children and step-children unite in praise of her sterling motherhood. Mrs. Pearce tells me that her own mother could not have been better to them than was this good woman who has passed away. Her memory will ever be cherished.

Music was furnished by Edna Powell, Hatty Salee and Myrtle Wood.
