Ontario - G. Virgil Shoemaker, 81, Ontario, died April 4, 1994, in an Ontario care center. Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Payette Chapel of the Roses. Inurnment will follow at Rosedale Memorial Gardens, Payette.

He was born Oct. 1, 1912, at Omaha, Neb., a son of James and Myrtle shoemaker. Virgil had lived in Payette and Ontario area of the past 45 years. He owned S.R.V. Music in Ontario and was in the vending machine business for many years. He enjoyed boating, traveling and owned his own race car at one time. He loved car races and anything with wheels. He was a member of St. John's church and was a veteran of World War II.

Survivors include four daughters and three sons, Rhoda Jean Ellenberger of San Jose, Calif., Jack Taylor of Durango, Colo., Gail Dahl of Payette, Frank Shoemaker of Meridian, Robert Shoemaker of McCall, Linda Trulson of Maple Valley, Wash., and Nancy Gerdes of Bremen, Germany; 19 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
