Thursday, September 19, 1940 Services Monday For Oregon Slope Farmer

Final tribute was paid Monday at St. John’s Evangelical church for A. F. Strey, Oregon Slope farmer who died unexpectedly at his home on Friday. The Rev. Albert Beutenmueller officiated and burial was in Rosedale Memorial park. Landon Funeral home was in charge.

Albert Fredrick Strey was born January 27, 1865, in Pomerania, Prussia, and came to this country at the age of 16, settling in Creston, Iowa, where for many years he worked as a boilermaker in the railroad shops. In February, 1889, he was married to Miss Helen C. Wollerstoff. Mr. and Mrs. Strey celebrated their golden wedding anniversary last year at their home.

Besides his wife he leaves two sons, Louis L. of Houston, Tex., and Fred of Payette; a twin brother Julius and a sister, Mrs. Emma Strey, both of Creston, Iowa.
